Sometimes you do crazy things for the sake of gaining someones attention. Swan is no different than you in that respect. She has done some pretty outrageous things to try to get the attention of somebody that she wants to get to know.

Swan says the key to meeting Mister or Misses Right is to use the "3 second" rule. The rule is simple, from the time that you make eye contact with the person you want to meet, you have 3 seconds to get your ass up and get over to where ever they are to start talking to them. You don't have time to think about what your going to say, you don't have time to get nervous and you don't have time to second guess yourself. The person that your heading to will see this as confidence and as long as you don't say anything too incredibly stupid, you will come across as someone who knows what they want, In three seconds, you have no time to become sweaty, trembling, stuttering - to acquire all the sure-fire signs of an idiot lacking any confidence, substance or consequence, a failure with women and life in general, a complete repellent of beautiful girls. So even if you start sweating, stuttering and trembling while talking to her, you weren't that way when you initiated contact - you just didn't have the time for that. And it's the first impression that counts. And if that first impression of you was that of a confident and spontaneous man, her feelings for you were positive from the start, which in turns greatly the diminishes the chances of you turning into a plateful of jelly while having a conversation with her.
